This time, I tried my hand at portrait painting for the first time in a while. Perhaps it is the trend of the times, but the children in my painting class are really good at drawing cartoons and illustrations, and I was inspired by this situation to draw this one.
I was a bit distracted by the color and shape of the flowers, and pulled out a lot of materials on Buddhist statues from the library stacks to compose this picture, and the main figure was a bit less than perfect. While I enjoyed painting this picture, I also wondered what I fundamentally wanted to convey. I need to look at it objectively and rethink how I used the materials and the touch of my brush.
This piece made me reflect on the work.

今回は、久しぶりに人物画に挑戦しました。時代の流れか、絵画教室の子供たちがほんとにアニメやイラストを描くのが上手で、その状況に感化されて描いた1枚です。
図書館の書庫からたくさんの仏像の資料を引っ張り出して構成したり、花の色や形に少し気を取られてしまい、メインの人物の完成度がやや甘くなりました。楽しく描けた反面、根本的に何を伝えたいのか？素材の使い方や筆のタッチなど、客観的に見て考え直さないといけないなと
反省させられる1枚となりました。
